Why Did I Come Upstairs?

I'm at that age where I get upstairs and forget what I actually came for. If I don't take a shopping list to Asda, then I come home with barbeque coal for the barbeque that I don't have, a rotary washing line and a TV stand - but I forget the milk and eggs. Generally I drive everywhere with a satnav - not for directions, but of the two of us, the satnav alone remembers where I want to go. If any of this sounds familiar, then this song is for you. It was played on Radio 2 recently, and, realising that I would instantly forget the singer's name, I wrote it down. I'm learning.
